The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Eoin O'KellyWe, the Family of Eoin O'Kelly, cherished Son of Kieran and Margaret, Brother of Niamh and Kieran, Brother-in-law of Shane, and devoted Uncle of Lauren, Julian and Ella, wish to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to all who helped us in big ways and small, following the departure of our beloved Eoin, on 4th March 2012. To the people who first came upon the scene of the accident for trying so valiantly to help him. To the members of the emergency services who attended the scene. To the staff of the Coronial Support Unit, particularly Pat Clements who communicated so clearly and sensitively with us. To Micheal Boland who became our family representative in Brisbane, who put so much effort into dealing with authorities, helping organise his farewell service, and finally accompanying Eoin on his final journey home to Ireland. To his best friends who made up his "Australian Family", especially his "Auzzie Mum", Katie Dell, who has since gone to join him. To Fr Peter Quin SJ PP, who celebrated Eoin's farewell mass. To everyone who participated in that mass, some of whom travelled great distances to do so. To Donal, Eoin's cousin, who travelled from Canberra to attend the mass on behalf of all of Eoin's family in Ireland. To the members of the Irish Queensland Association who helped with the organisation as well as the Mercy nuns, Srs Nuala and Angela Mary in particular. To Rowen Steer of Integrity Funerals who was so professional and sensitive in his capacity as funeral director. To everyone at Australian Property Directions who were represented by Michael Crouch at his funeral in Galway. To Ada Jean and Rob who also travelled to Galway to attend Eoin's funeral. To everyone who helped in the onerous task of packing up and sending Eoin's belongings home. To Genevieve and Dave who forever enriched our lives this Christmas by making such an epic journey. To each and everyone who took time to send cards, write beautiful letters, send e-mails, forward photographs and share their memories of Eoin. To all of you, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deepest appreciation. A mass has been offered for all your intentions.
