Break Free
by Margaret Eggins
Its quick as the flight of a silver tailed dove
This life is for living so live it my love,
Break free of the shackles and loosen the chains
Lighten your burden & heed not the pains.
Set free your spirit so heavy till now
And join it in song with the bird on the bough
Let fancy take flight as it soars to the sky
Turn eyes to the heavens and let your dreams fly
Grasp at the straw if its all you can reach
For few are the favours that’s given to each
Winding & stony & narrow the path
But the journeys forgotten in loves aftermath
With positive thinking, make every day count
Put your best foot forward while climbing the mount
Live love and be happy & listen my friend
Each day must begin before it can end.
We celebrate my mother’s life each year by publishing her poems which she hid from sight.
She still is our guiding light.
Now in her God's care, our darling Marby – Margaret Eggins
