Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
VALE RON "GEEZA" EADE.
The Blackburn Football Club would like to acknowledge the sad passing of Club legend and stalwart, Ron "Geeza" Eade. Ron has been connected with the Club since 1944, was our oldest living life member (circa 1958), played 331 games (including 2 senior premierships in 1950 and 1952), and was awarded 3 Best Clubman awards spanning 1954 to 2000. Fiercely loyal and passionate as a player, supporter and volunteer, Ron's service to the Club was recognised in 2007 when the Club's Senior Mens B&F award was named in his honour in perpetuity. A much loved and popular bloke around the Club, we will forever remember the stories and jokes regaled, the mischievous antics around the bar, and the one-eyed sledging from the boundary line! The Club passes on their condolences to the Eade family during this difficult time - but they should have comfort that there has never been a greater example of what being a true Club person is, and we are all the better for having shared time with the man we all called Geeza. RIP Ronny - and go Burners.
