The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Dearest Dr Laurie. I knew you as one of your patients as well as rubbing shoulders in our Lockleys suburb. You always radiated compassion, intellect, humor and care. I last saw you last year when you were walking your dog from your parents home to your own home and you were your normal radiant self. We stopped and chatted for a few minutes, had a laugh then we said ciao. My heart is breaking at your passing which is far to young and you certainly crammed a lot in during your short years.
I send my most sincere condolences to your entire family, friends and colleagues.
Dr Chitti and Jenny -words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of your beloved Laurie. He was the exceptional man because of you.
To all of Laurie's close family and many friends - may you all find strength in the love & warm embrace of each other. May God be of comfort & strength to you all during this most difficult of times.
Laurie - You really did have a smile that lit up the world! I know when I see the brightest shining star in the night sky it will be you still lighting up the world.
With love and a heavy heart
Tammy Marcotte, Austin & Fraser Long
