M.J.M. Carter AO (affectionately known as “Max”).

Passed away on 18 January 2024 age 96.

Max was a passionate advocate for and supporter of the Art Gallery of South Australia.

He leaves a legacy as one of Australia’s most generous donors.

He dedicated his life to the Art Gallery.

He was a prominent member of the AGSA Board and Foundation.

He will be sorely missed.
