John was a soldier, teacher, geologist, BSc Hons UNSW, businessman and life member of Norwood Apex Club.
True friend to many, a legendary cook and host, both at home and the Swan Reach shack.
John's sense of humour and hearty laugh will long be remembered, especially by his oldest pal Kerry, family and friends in Dungog.
John loved life and with Janet travelled extensively throughout Australia and the world, making many enduring friendships.
John was a country boy at heart and a proud Australian.
