Born in Semaphore, South Australia, to parents Mary and James 'Buntie' Reid, (Shetland).
At age 88, Doug lived a full and productive life from an idyllic childhood in Whyalla, and through 67 years of marriage to Margaret, the love of his life.
He believed he lives on in the DNA of his 6 children - David, Allyson, Rebecca, Belinda, Kathryn and Andrea,
15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren .... at last count!
Our family is very grateful to the nurses and doctors at Mary Potter Hospice, Calvary Adelaide, Wallaroo Hospital and the Moonta Palliative Care Teach. We thank them for their compassion and quality care.
Doug wanted to share; 'To my darling wife and family, I love you all and am very proud of you all. While you may feel sad at my passing, please know that it is a great relief to me.'
Privately cremated at Doug's request.
There will be a private memorial at a later stage (TBA).
