Ordained a priest at St Patrick's Cathedral,
East Melbourne on 25 July 1964,
Fr Michael was appointed temporarily as Assistant Priest at Healesville Parish. He was then appointed Assistant Priest at Ringwood Parish (1965) Coburg Parish (1969) and in 1972, he was appointed Chaplain to the Young Christian Students Movement. He served as Assistant Priest in the parishes of Gardenvale (1973), Frankston (1977) and Boronia (1978).
Fr Michael was appointed Parish Priest of Gladstone Park Parish (1978), Croydon Parish (1993) and Camberwell Parish (2004) until his retirement in 2016, whereupon he was appointed Pastor Emeritus.
Fr Michael then generously served as
the Administrator for two months at
Essendon Parish in 2017.
He passed away at Caritas Christi Hospice,
Kew on Sunday 29 September, aged 85 years.
The Archdiocese is most grateful for his service to the Church and will be remembered as a priest who served God's people with joy and generosity.
