Daughter of the late Keith and Enid Kirkland of Sydney and resident of Hobart since 1957.
Loving Wife of Bruce for 51 years.
Mother of Tamsin, Claudia and Murray. Step-mother of Richard and Angela.
Grandmother of Nathanael, Carmel and Yvonne, Rowan and Damian.
Sadly missed by her friends and family, including her sister Janet and her nieces and nephews, all in Sydney.
Her sister Margaret predeceased her.
Gillian was passionate about politics and an active member of the Liberal Party since 1950.
She pursued a wide variety of interests and contributed to many organisations as a volunteer, as well as to various charities.
A thoughtful critic and contributor, she authored many articles, particularly on political science and ornithology, and was an active member of a range of think tanks.
Privately cremated at her request.
