ATKINSON, Geoffrey James
22.12.1929 – 17.7.2021
Passed away peacefully. Beloved Husband of Kate (Kathleen). Brother of Patricia.
Cherished Father and Father-in-Law to Jennifer and Tony, Stewart and Joanne.
Doting Pa to James and Daniel.
Geoffrey was the epitome of a gentleman.
His kindness and gentle humour endeared him to all.
Geoff adored his “Katie” over their 65 years together.
A devoted father, he was enormously proud of his children and grandchildren.
A music lover and singer, he loved performing Gilbert and Sullivan opera.
Geoff was a lifelong learner, keen to develop new skills.
Geoff loved all animals and they loved him – drawn to his caring nature.
A great all-round sportsman, he excelled at golf, tennis and squash.
His dedication to the St Kilda Football Club was evident in his enthusiastic
renditions of “When the Saints Go Marching In”, even when his memory was failing him.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks to all the amazing staff from
Casey Aged Care in taking such wonderful care of Geoff over the past five years.
We are especially grateful for the kindness and affection the staff provided to
Geoff, Kate and family in his last days.
A celebration of life will follow when restrictions allow.
