EVANS, John Brian

29/04/2022
Publication: The Mercury
Date Listed: 30/4/2022
Location: Lindisfarne

1932 - April 2022

Devoted husband of Bunty Evans (dec), loving father of Taffy Evans and Robyn Evans, and father in law to Peter Taylor. Proud Grandfather of Tristan and Hilary, and their partners, Aleisha and Damian, and Great Grandfather to Oscar, Astrid, Greta, Rosa and Sullivan. Grandfather to Taffy’s children, Cortney and Meg, whose geographical distance has unfortunately prevented closer contact in recent years.

John was born in the UK, and travelled the seven seas as an officer with the New Zealand Shipping Line before settling in Adelaide for many years, and then making a tree-change to Clare, South Australia, as a vigneron. He then moved to Mornington, Victoria, immersing himself in music there, and finally relocated to Hobart. John’s latest home was briefly at Queen Victoria Care in Lindisfarne. A heartfelt thank you to staff for their kind care of John.

A true gentleman who led an adventurous and musical life. A life well-lived.

He will be missed by family and friends.

Private cremation. Memorial celebration at a later date.
